This privacy statement applies to personal and other information collected on or via this National Broadband Map website. The website is maintained by the Ministry of Economic Development (MED).
Personal information
We do not collect identifiable information about you if you only browse this website. You may, however, volunteer personal information to us, by registering on the site and through registering your residential or your organisation's broadband demand.
Use and disclosure
The information we collect on residential and organisational broadband demand, supplied to us through the registration of broadband demand form, may be used by and disclosed to the following parties, in the specified forms and for the specified purposes:
- central and local government agencies, either in the form provided or in aggregated form containing no personal information but including organisational data, for the purposes of analysing broadband demand;
- existing or potential providers of broadband services, in aggregated form containing no personal information but including organisational data;
- other third parties, for example through the mapping application on this website or through the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) available via this website, in aggregated form containing no personal information but including organisational data; or
- otherwise in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.
Organisations should note that their business names, addresses, locations and business phone numbers may be displayed through the mapping application on this website.
Statistical information
We may collect and analyse non-identifiable web traffic data to improve this website or our services.
This website uses cookies which store anonymous information as to whether a user has visited the site previously, the host name, session ID and a timestamp, but can be viewed without any discernible difference if a user has disabled the use of cookies.

Pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993, you have the right to access and to request correction of any of your personal information provided to us in connection with or through your use of this website. If you would like to see the personal information relating to you that we have stored, or to change such personal information, or if you have any concerns regarding your privacy, please contact us by any of the means set out below. We may require proof of your identity before being able to provide you with any personal information.
